My Unique Approach to Education

“I strongly believe in participatory education because doing is learning.”

– Robert Phillips

Bob Phillips has been a communications professional since January 1970 when he was employed by the CBS affiliate in Dallas, Texas, while still a freshman in college. He spent 16 years at KDFW-TV as a photographer, reporter, producer, anchor and assignments editor. While still in college, he was part of a team that began a half-hour, weekly program about Texas called 4 Country Reporter and, in addition to his other duties in the news department and shooting sideline film for The Dallas Cowboys football team and NFL Films, produced and hosted that program starting in 1972. Bob left KDFW for WFAA in 1986 but took the show with him after a name change to Texas Country Reporter. In 1987, he started his own production company and is still President and CEO of that company today (now known as Phillips Media Source). His company produces television shows, high end HD video projects for several Fortune 500 companies, healthcare organizations and higher education facilities, and advises companies and organizations on communications matters, i.e., marketing, social marketing and public relations. Bob also consults various companies and organizations in the area of communications.

Bob is also President and CEO of Texas Country Tours, Inc., a hospitality company that operates a high end boutique hotel and spa in the Texas Hill Country.
