CFBISD provides several supports to new counselors in addition to yearly and ongoing support for all counselors, which includes new counselor academy sessions on Fridays throughout the first two months of school and mentorship from a district counseling specialist and a peer mentor. CFBISD also supports counseling through two licensed chemical dependency counselors, five crisis counselors, a counselor to support staff with referrals, and positive behavior facilitators serving general education students at the elementary level.
