School Counselor - Carrollton/Farmers Branch ISD

Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD is currently accepting applications for elementary, middle and high school counselors. School counseling graduate students who will soon complete their master’s degree who are interested in working in a great school district in the Dallas area are encouraged to apply at www.cfbjobs.com and select the red “Search Current Openings” button.  Under the “Professional” category, the elementary posting is ID 3333, middle school is 2147, and high school is 1693.

CFBISD provides several supports to new counselors in addition to yearly and ongoing support for all counselors, which includes new counselor academy sessions on Fridays throughout the first two months of school and mentorship from a district counseling specialist and a peer mentor. CFBISD also supports counseling through two licensed chemical dependency counselors, five crisis counselors, a counselor to support staff with referrals, and positive behavior facilitators serving general education students at the elementary level. At the high school level, counselors receive heavy support from College Career and Military Readiness deans who assist students and families with college financial aid and admissions applications.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Master’s degree in counseling from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas school counselor certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:
