My Unique Approach to Education

“My approach to adult learning is working professionals who need a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as a facilitator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is Christian, safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas in the classroom. There are three elements that I believe are conducive to establishing such an environment, (1) the instructor acting as a guide, (2) allowing the adult students natural progression to direct his/her learning, and (3) promoting respect for all things and all people in the class.”

During college, I competed for three years at Oklahoma State University (OSU) under Coach Bob Simmons and played in one non-Bowl Championship Series (BCS) bowl game. In addition, I obtained my Master of Business Administration (MBA)/e-Business from the University of Phoenix at the Dallas campus in 2004. Initially, completed my Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) online through the Phoenix campus in 2016 to become a sports consultant for Adidas, MLS, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), National Football League (NFL), or National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). My dissertation addressed the financial implications of NCAA Division 1 Athletes at high profiled programs such as Ohio State University (OSU), Texas A&M University (A&M), University of Connecticut (UConn), Florida State University (FSU), Stanford University, Arizona State University (ASU) and University of Texas (UT) multi-million-dollar programs. Furthermore, I have one younger brother, who is an associate professor at Howard University and completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in International Government / Black Politics. My younger brother graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, in the fall of 2008 with a Master’s in Africana Studies.

In 2009, I married for the first time to a wonderful woman, who completed her MBA/Finance and has enjoyed working for Argo Technology as a Business Analyst. In addition, my wife is slowly learning to love the sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and European Soccer Club (ESC). Furthermore, we have a thirteen-year-old daughter beginning eighth grade and loves She-Hulk, Lady Thor, and Black Panther (Shuri), and my ten-year-old is finishing his last year in elementary and loves the Spiderman universe (Myles Morales, Peter Parker, Venom, and Daredevil).
